Are you ready to Get Ahead on Flex?
As an NHS employer, signing the pledge is a way to show that you’re committed to giving every employee a positive, consistent experience of flex.
Flexible working can help us all make the NHS work better.
- Offering flexibility makes it easier to attract and retain talent: eight out of ten job seekers rank flex as the biggest priority and NHS staff survey results show staff are three times less likely to leave if they’re satisfied with flexible working options.
- Flex is shown to improve staff health and wellbeing, job satisfaction and performance, and case studies show that flex goes hand-in-hand with greater productivity when managers use opportunities to redesign ways of working and make use of new technology.
- Ultimately, it all adds up to better patient care.
The Pledge
We commit to working in partnership with NHS unions to:
Lead the conversation
Include flexible working options in every job advert, interview and appraisal, making flexible working the norm for all.
Set a target
Publish data about flexible working requests and a clear action plan for progress, owned by the Board.
Train for flex
Train every manager to support and champion flexible working.
